Fairness is a General Rule in Good Content

A lot of so-called marketing experts shall tell you that nothing generates interest as fast as a strong opinion, which is why a lot of blogs and websites do their best to rile up emotions with opinionated views and passionate statements. However, it may be that the only real goal of such sites is to promote interest, and not necessarily positive interest leading to an action (the goal). It would be hard to get someone to sign up for your newsletter if you have just antagonised them with your perspectives through a heated discussion, after all.

Most readers admit that what they prefer is content that tries to be fair to all sides even while evaluating their weaknesses and strengths. Anyone would prefer to read an acne plr product review that strives to be objective and detached in its estimation, for instance, instead of a review that just gushes and ashamedly promotes the product itself. Just remember that sincerity and justice still go a long way.

Urban Legends That Never Die

An urban legend, by definition, is a story that is not written down, but simply told from person to person. These are the stories that are impossible to keep to ourselves, perhaps because we relate to the people in them, or they’re just scary, or that we as people love telling stories.

One of these stories is that of Carmen Winstead, a girl who supposedly lived in Indiana several decades ago. The story goes that she was being bullied one day, and the girls doing it accidentally pushed her into a well, killing her. They feigned innocence when confronted, and got away without getting into trouble.

But Carmen could not rest without retribution. Over the coming weeks these girls died unnatural deaths, usually leaving mutilated bodies behind afterwards. And truly, Carmen Winstead got her revenge.

Stories like these thrill us all, and are passed from person to person, and probably will be for a long time to come. It is our job to enjoy them.

Script Analysis is Hard to Receive

Analysis is a very cold seeming word, and it can be intimidating to submit yourself to any kind of scrutiny that falls under the umbrella of analysis. Especially when you’re considering analysis on something personal. Getting your computer analyzed is one thing, but getting your psyche or your creative work analyzed is much harsher.

Script analysis is one of the more difficult kinds of criticism to endure. Everybody wants to think they can write a great screenplay, because everybody loves movies. However, the truth is, most people can’t write a great movie. Even paid movie writers can’t write good movies a lot of the time. So if you’ve written a screenplay, unless you’re some kind of genius, it probably needs help.

Although it’s certainly challenging to subject yourself to the words of others when it comes to your own words, it’s a necessary process. So print out that script and let it be ripped apart. When you put it back together, it will be much improved.

What is in a Phrase?

We often wonder what sayings can make a huge difference and that depends on their intended purpose. For me, sayings can give me a lift when I’m down, can give me a smile when I’m sad, and can give me wisdom when I need to learn more. The best part of life is that as humans, we can continue to adapt, to learn, to have the opportunity to help others get more out of their own life. We are very fortunate when we can share with others and any additional wisdom, resources, or aids can make a big difference to us all. The weakest people are those who refuse to keep learning whereas the strong are those who continue the quest for more understanding as a normal part of their life. The best is never enough and the more we learn, it seems the less we really know. Maybe I should return to my mental sate when I was in my twenties when I new everything? Not.

How Long Have You Been Writing? Time to Enter Screenplay Contests

If you have been writing for a while, don’t you think it is time to take a chance and enter screenplay contests. I know, it is scary to venture out in the world and get criticized. But you will never move forward unless you start taking risks with your work. You need to be willing to let other people read your stuff and see what they have to say. This is the only way you will truly open up your voice and build the courage to really shop your script around town. Okay, let me say it now…. you script isn’t perfect. Far from it. But perfection is not something you can attain. You have to be willing to let it go. And be happy just finishing. A finished script will lead to another script. And to another. And so you will actually be prolific and not care about anyone script but the body of work you have created.
